Ward W. O'Hara Agricultural and Country Living Museum
The Ward W. O’Hara Agricultural & Country Living Museum is a living history museum featuring farm and home implements, tools and antiques that revolutionized the American way of life. The museum features 19th century versions of a schoolhouse, blacksmith, woodworking shop, country kitchen, parlor, and bedroom that you can walk through and experience, antique tools and tractors, herb garden, and more.
History: In the mid-1900s, Ward W. O’Hara became interested in collecting farm equipment. His wife Ruth joined him on this passion project, and their collection of equipment and implements grew beyond their ability to house it all. They approached the Cayuga County Legislature for permission to make the unused 4-H Pavilion at Emerson Park into a Country Museum, which was granted to them in 1975. In May 1977, the museum was renamed the Ward W. O’Hara Agricultural Museum in honor of its founder, Ward.
